Your role As a Medical Gas Installation Engineer at BeaconMedaes, your mission is to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant installation of medical gas pipeline systems across healthcare facilities. You will play a critical role in supporting patient safety by delivering high-quality installations that meet HTM 02-01 standards and exceed customer expectations. The role Install, test, and commission medical gas pipeline systems in hospitals and healthcare environments, including method statements, and risk assessments. Test and pre-commission installations in line with the pertaining industry standard. Carry out final connections of piped gas systems. Interpret and work from mechanical services drawings. Ensure all installations comply with relevant standards, including HTM 02-01 and ISO 7396-1. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and hospital staff to ensure smooth project delivery. Maintain accurate documentation and installation records. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies. Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and subcontractors when required. Represent BeaconMedaes professionally on-site, maintaining strong customer relationships. To succeed, you will need Proven experience in medical gas pipeline installation or a similar mechanical engineering field. Valid MGPS Competent Person (CP) or Authorised Person (AP) certification (HTM 02-01). Strong understanding of HTM 02-01, ISO 7396-1, and other relevant standards. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Nationally to various sites. CSCS card and relevant health & safety certifications (e.g., SSSTS, PASMA, IPAF) are advantageous.   • Project management on several large critical infrastructure HVDC sites across Ireland and the UK.  Responsibilities involve liaising with each project teams and technical specialists then to complete projects and to ensure synergy within each of the project deliverables. Includes defining the scope of a project, creating and managing the project plan, identifying key stakeholders, managing the budget, ensuring work is compliant with the relevant security standards, and completing the project within the deadline.
  • Planning and scheduling, Defines, jointly with the Project Controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.
  • Project execution and control, ensures that the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi Energy policies. Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization. Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Captures, analyses and shares lessons learned throughout the project. Ensures that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.
  • Contract claims and procurement management, ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements. Coordinates with Supply Chain Management, and successfully procures required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. Support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes.
  • Stakeholder relations, acts as key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.
  • Health, safety and environment (HSE), Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Qualifications/Experience required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management (or equivalent qualification) with at least 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Proven Project Management experience; including scope, scheduling, cost control, procurement, quality assurance, and vendor/subcontractor management.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate remote teams, prioritise workloads, manage competing demands, and deliver to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with strong customer focus and experience delivering client-focused solutions.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently, under pressure, and within a results-driven team environment.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of cyber security processes and procedures; experience with control, protection, and cyber systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA is desirable.
  • Previous experience within critical infrastructure environments desirable.
  • Some travel will be required therefore a full clean driving license is essential.
