However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. About the role   We're looking for a Senior AI Developer to join our AI Enabling team. Our mission is to accelerate AI adoption across the organization by building golden paths (primarily in the form of agent skills) and reusable components that help product teams ship AI-powered features faster and with confidence. You'll design, build, and maintain these shared capabilities from prototype through production while mentoring the engineers around you. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll own architecture decisions and shape how AI gets built across the company. What you'll do here:
  • Build golden paths and reusable AI components — Design and develop agent skills, shared libraries, and reference architectures that product teams can adopt to ship AI-powered features faster and more reliably.
  • Enable product teams at scale — Partner with value stream teams to understand their needs, identify common patterns, and turn them into well-documented, production-ready building blocks (RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, prompt templates, evaluation harnesses).
  • Ship to production on AWS — Deploy and operate shared AI infrastructure using services like Bedrock, AgentCore, Lambda, Step Functions, and container platforms. Ensure reliability, latency targets, and cost efficiency across all shared components.
  • Define standards and best practices — Establish opinionated defaults for how AI gets built across the organization — from prompt engineering patterns to evaluation methodologies to deployment strategies.
  • Drive quality through evaluation and iteration — Build evaluation frameworks that product teams can plug into, measuring solution performance, detecting regressions, and ensuring consistent quality across consumers.
  • Collaborate across disciplines — Work with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to ensure AI components are addressing real business needs and leveraging high-quality data.
  • Mentor and elevate the squad — Conduct code reviews, pair on hard problems, and raise the team's technical bar in AI/ML engineering. Help junior engineers grow through coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current and bring ideas forward — Evaluate emerging AI techniques, frameworks, and tooling. Recommend and pilot new approaches that improve the platform's capabilities or developer experience.
What you bring to the table:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years building ML or AI systems in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, FastAPI).
  • Solid experience with AWS services relevant to AI/ML workloads (e.g., Bedrock, AgentCore, SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions, S3).
  • Deep understanding of GenAI and agentic AI fundamentals: prompt engineering, RAG architectures, agentic orchestration patterns, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience with MLOps practices: CI/CD for models, monitoring, experiment tracking, and reproducible deployments.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate development workflows.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required given the necessity to interact regularly with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar agent-tool integration standards.
  • Familiarity with the insurance or financial services domain.
  • Experience with orchestration frameworks such as CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
